November Update
A minor victory!
Finally, months after splashing out a fortune on two radiator beds for these ungrateful monsters, one of them deigns to actually lie on one of them!
I suppose, in hindsight, it might well have had to have been winter before we saw any usage of these. But having concluded that the cats found them too precarious, negotiating them blind as they are, we took a chance and encouraged Milly up on to one last night and she curled up and stayed put. Not only that, but did so for at least half an hour, enjoying the proximity to the radiator. We can but hope it’s not a one-off. Next up, trying to get one in the one in the dining room.
It may well have been a product of them being pleased to see us, and so Milly enjoying being close to me without having to be on my lap. Last weekend we were in Buxton, enjoying a change in scenery as I continue to recover from a nasty Post-Viral Fatigue. By all accounts they do well enough when we’re in absentia, but they do exhibit a certain amount of clinginess when we return from a few days away.
No long term damage done, though, and I’m not due for any time away for some weeks now.
So as the nights grow longer, I imagine we can expect more (reluctant) radiator bed use and more cosying up. I certainly can’t think of a nicer way of spending a winter’s evening than with a cat on my lap.
Until next time, cat fans!
