October Update
Blimey, I’ve been neglectful of you. Mostly because I’m in a sort of time limbo at the moment, having been quite unwell for some weeks. The girls, though, have enjoyed me being at home, so that’s something.
Rather less keen, mind, on the number of work people we’ve had around recently. We had a couple of chaps in to remove our old gas fire this week, much to Rosie’s disapproval…
Even Milly, usually oblivious to visitors, was moved to make a retreat for that one. She was more amenable to the lone radiator man, who managed to get a fuss off of her.
Now that autumn is upon us and winter is hot on her heels, I’ve moved our campaign chair from its home in the conservatory to the bedroom, to create a nice little reading nook in the bedroom. My main reading nook in the spare room has the drawback of being off-limits to the pusscats, on account of the spare room being a maze of piles of toot which we’re slightly loathe to let them loose in. Moving to the bedroom allows me the luxury of also keeping the girls company which, after a year with us, they are even more desirous of.
Even better, when folded up, it makes an admirable hiding place.
And yes, apologies, that is some discarded washing that Milly is getting a faceful of there.
So that’s been pretty much my September / October, hanging out with my girls being looked after, reading and watching Star Trek on Netflix.
It’s made a period of enforced house arrest so much more bearable to have my girls with me. Even as I type this, Rosie’s sitting by my chair, wondering why, if I’m doing tappy-tap, why I haven’t put her bed down beside me. Life is so much richer for having these two idiots in it.
Until next time, cat friends,
JK
