December Update
Our cats' Christmas has come early...
Last month’s minor victory appears to have gone to our heads, as we’ve gone a bit mental with cat spending this month. For starters, some of the beds we’d inherited with our girls are a bit… lived-in, so we decided to order a couple of new ones, and ones which potentially gave them a bit more room. Only one’s arrived so far, but it seems to have gone down well…
Not only that, but we splashed out a few new toys for them too. ..

The circular scratcher on the left has seen little action so far, but there has been a bit of rubbing their chins against it. The fella in the middle (one of two) caused great excitement, for about ten minutes, but they are going back to them occasionally…
The thing recharging1 on the right is an autonomous ball-thing that rolls around, whirring, changing direction at random. It will run for about five minutes, and you can set it so that, at the end of that five minutes when it’s still, if the cat prods it, it starts up again. We thought this would be especially fun for them if we’re out, or need them to entertain themselves, and they are finding it fascinating, following it around and gently batting at it. Makes a little bit of a racket (handy for blind cats) so a bit disturbing if you’re trying to watch telly or something, but so far it’s proving a big hit.
Milly’s gone back to sleeping downstairs, for the first half of the night at least. We do tend to then get woken up around 3-4am by her prowling around downstairs mewing as if she thinks the whole world’s disappeared, at which point we have to remind her there’s an upstairs too, and we’re all up there. She then bounds upstairs, mewing in relief and will settle on the bed. Or sometimes in it…
Her other favourite thing that she’s perfected of late is the casual saunter past Rosie’s bowl. Feeding them separately, in an attempt to alleviate some of her skin condition, means having to constantly monitor their eating, especially when Milly looks up from her bowl, then really slowly and casually moves over to near Rosie’s, pretending she has no interest in it, before suddenly lunging at it like I’m some kind of idiot.
That’s all from us. Until next time, cat fans!

And I can only hope it’s not downloading all my gubbins and bluetoothing it to China or something…
